Princess Of The Sado River May 2023 Dear Reader, Located south of Lisbon, Setúbal enjoys several geographical privileges… The city is nestled among the Arrábida Hills, embraced by both the Sado River and the Atlantic Ocean, sitting right in front of the stunning Tróia Peninsula. Over here, sandy beaches and clear waters abound. In terms of weather, Setúbal enjoys summer temperatures that can easily reach 30°C (86°F), while winter temperatures can drop to around 7°C (45°F). During the summer, rainfall is scarce, but it significantly increases in winter due to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean. The city center boasts the charm typical of so many small, old, sunny fishing villages all over the country… There are plenty of cafés and restaurants, many focusing on the local cuisine, which is strongly based on grilled fish and seafood. Setúbal, known as the princess of the Sado River, has one foot in modern times and amenities and the other in old-school southern European charisma.
